A gay fraternity cooler

I am neither a fraternity brother nor female. So after a couple years of watching women pour their hearts, their wallets and their free time into decorating coolers for fraternity away-formals, I never expected to join. Take a walk through Central Campus in the spring, and you’ll probably see groups of girls huddled over beverage coolers with painting supplies.

Last week, the Republican repeal of Obamacare went from unlikely, to maybe, to dead. While it appears that President Obama’s signature healthcare legislation will remain in place for now, it is unlikely that the Republicans won’t try again later for another repeal.

When passing judgment on student athletes at Duke, it critical to look beyond the overly publicized promotion of Duke men’s basketball, including the phenomenon of one and done players. The clear majority of Duke student athletes are on campus for the sole purpose of learning at a world class university.

Charles Murray, protests and student dialogue

Over the past few months, it has become en vogue for well-meaning middle-aged journalists, social scientists, and politicians to chastise college students for their perceived “sensitivity.” Scholars and pundits from Frank Bruni to Bill Maher have bemoaned the coddling of American students, as well as the development of an awareness of microaggressions and advocacy for safe spaces.
